Illinois Races: Robert Marshall (D) for U.S. Senate

Perennial candidate has run for office under three separate parties

Dr. Robert Marshall is a perennial candidate in Illinois.

The 66-year-old radiologist has run for both Senate and Congress several times, and has done so as both a Libertarian and a Republican.

Marshall recently switched to the Democratic Party, a move he said was galvanized by hearing then-senator Barack Obama speak during the presidential campaign.
