Al-Qaida Releases Video of U.S. Hostage

A U.S. aid worker kidnapped by al-Qaida in Pakistan last year has pleaded with President Barack Obama to meet his captors' demands for the release of prisoners in a video released by the terrorist group, Reuters reported. The SITE monitoring service, which tracks al-Qaida's statements, quoted Warren Weinstein, who was abducted in the central Pakistani city of Lahore last August, appealing to Obama directly. The video message was uploaded to Islamist websites on Sunday, marking the first time Weinstein has been seen since being captured by gunmen. Before he was kidnapped, Weinstein had lived and worked in Pakistan for over five years.
