ISIS Video Purports to Show Pilot Burned Alive

ISIS militants released a video Tuesday purporting to show a captive Jordanian pilot being being burned alive, NBC News reported. Lt. Muath al Kasasbeh was on a bombing run over Syria in December when he was forced to eject and was captured by ISIS fighters. A 22-minute video released by an official media arm of ISIS shows Kasasbeh with a black eye at a table and later, standing in a cage as he is burned alive, according to jihadi analysis firm SITE Intelligence. Jordanian officials had been working to negotiate a prisoner swap between Kasasbeh and an al-Qaeda prisoner who faces execution for her role in triple bombings in Jordan in 2005. The intelligence community is working to verify the video's authenticity, a National Security Council spokesperson said. President Barack Obama said that should the video be authentic, "it's just one more indication of the viciousness and barbarity of this organization."
