Woman Fatally Struck by CTA Train at Adams/Wabash Station

That kind of cash could get you 796 rides on a CTA train (or a different number of rides if the prices change during the summer of 2016).

A woman was fatally struck by a train Saturday morning in the Loop.

The incident occurred about 10:50 a.m. at the Adams/Wabash station, 201 S. Wabash Ave., the CTA said.

Chicago fire officials confirmed a woman was killed after being hit by a train, and emergency crews were conducting a recovery mission.

Green, Orange, Pink and Brown Line trains were rerouted for about three hours but resumed running normally through the Loop just before 2 p.m., the CTA said.

Chicago police could not immediately provide details about the incident.
