The Chicago-area remains under a Winter Weather Advisory as heavy snow could cause travel issues through the overnight and morning hours.
That advisory began at 6 p.m. Sunday night and will continue until noon central time on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. McHenry, Lake, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, Cook, LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy, Will, Kankakee, and Iroquois counties are all listed under the advisory.
In Indiana, Lake, Porter, Newton, and Jasper counties are also impacted by the approaching disturbance, which is forecasted to dump between three and five inches of snow on the area.
That snowfall could lead to slippery road condition, and the NWS says that the snow could impact Monday morning commutes in the Chicagoland area.
A separate Winter Weather Advisory has also gone into effect for LaPorte County in Indiana. Forecasts say that 2-to-4 inches of snow will fall through Monday afternoon, and then more lake-effect snow is possible Monday night and into Tuesday.
Finally, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Kenosha County in Wisconsin. That warning will last until noon on Tuesday, with six to nine inches and reduced visibility possible with the heavy snowfall.
