Babysitter Arrested for Sexually Abusing Boy in Wilmette

Police in north suburban Wilmette have arrested an Indiana man for sexually abusing a boy he was hired to babysit last year.

Brett J. Zagorac, 32, was arrested at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Wilmette police Cmdr. Patrick Collins said in a statement.

Zagorac, who also goes by B.J. Zagorac and B.J. Zagr, is a self-employed tutor and babysitter, police said. In November of 2014 the victim’s family placed an ad looking for a babysitter on a babysitting/tutoring website. Zagorac contacted them via email and offered to tutor their children.

When his parents learned information about Zagorac’s background, the victim told them about the incident of sexual abuse that took place in December 2014, police said.

Anyone with information about this case or any other criminal conduct by Zagorac is encouraged to call the Wilmette police tip line at 847-920-3507.
