Chicago Boasts 3 of Top Vegetarian Restaurants in America

Two Chicago restaurants and one Evanston eatery made the cut

Chicago is known for deep dish pizza and Italian beef sandwiches, but vegetarians also have plenty of options in the Windy City, according to a new ranking of restaurants that cater to plant aficionados.

According to a new ranking by OpenTable, the Chicago-area has three of the Top 50 restaurants for vegetarians in the United States.

The ranking, which evaluated over 28,000 different restaurants in all 50 states, narrowed things down to the best of the best, and Chicago is one of America’s most vegetarian-friendly cities.

According to the ranking, two Chicago eateries made the cut, with Beatrix in River North and Ema in Near North both ranking among the top 50.

Another area-eatery also made the list, as the Blind Faith Café in Evanston was honored.

ACME Hotel Company launches its haunting H.H. Holmes pop-up experience, featuring spooky artifacts "sure to provide guests with a chilling overnight stay."
Inside the suite are old newspaper clippings, "bones from Holmes' victims," surgical tools and even an image of Holmes in the window and mirror.
The pop-up runs Oct. 27 through Halloween.

“With more and more diners craving veggie-centric cuisine, we’re thrilled to provide a list that spotlights restaurants serving standout vegetarian fare across the country,” said Caroline Potter, Chief Dining Officer at OpenTable. “Whether you’re an affirmed vegetarian or someone looking to explore a sustainable, meatless diet, you can count on finding delicious vegetable-forward dishes at any of these honorees.”

16 different states and the District of Columbia were all represented, according to the publication.
