Suspects Sought in South Suburban Frankfort Carjacking, Armed Robberies

The suspects are wanted for a crime spree that occurred early Saturday morning

A search is underway for two suspects who allegedly kidnapped a woman and forced her to withdraw money to make purchases. NBC 5’s Dick Johnson has the details.

Police in south suburban Frankfort have released photos of two men who are suspected in a crime spree along LaGrange Road early Saturday morning, including kidnapping a woman and forcing her to make purchases, officials said.

According to Frankfort police, a female victim was forced to withdraw cash at approximately 5:50 a.m. Saturday at a Chase ATM in the 20800 block of South LaGrange Road.

The suspects then kidnapped the victim in her own car, forcing her to withdraw cash or either spend money at various locations, police said. Frankfort Police Chief John Burica estimated that approximately $8,000 was taken.

Police also believe the suspects, or people working with them, are responsible for a separate armed robbery that occurred hours earlier the same morning at a Shell/Circle K gas station on LaGrange Road.

Officers found the suspects' getaway vehicle in Steger, and have already processed it, along with the victim's car, for forensic and physical evidence. Police said the getaway vehicle, a black Mercedes SUV, had been stolen from Joliet.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Frankfort Police Department at 815-469-9435.
