Showers and heavy wins raced through parts of northern Illinois and northwest Indiana late Saturday and early Sunday ahead of a cold front that will bring drier air to the region.
Wind gusts in excess of 50 MPH were recorded in some areas, including a 57 mile per hour gust that was recorded in Chicago early Sunday morning.

Warmer and drier air is slowly building into the area, with temperatures in the 50’s and 60’s expected over the next several days.
