Those are the buzzwords surrounding the return of the South Side Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The tradition is back after a two-year hiatus, stepping off March 11th at 11 a.m. -- an earlier start than years' past.
The route is on Western Avenue from 103rd Street to 115th St., but as most revelers already know, this year's parade will be much different than the drunk fest it become known for, a planned return to its family-friendly atmosphere.
Security details include:
- Fines for open alcohol throughout the neighborhood.
- Security check points surrounding the Parade route checking for alcohol.
- No alcohol on Metra Rock Island trains on Parade Day.
- Buses will be directed to specific drop-off/pick-up points.
