Sorry Leo Fans: DiCaprio is Not Moving to Woodstock

A story published on a fake news site quickly fooled many into thinking Leonardo DiCpario was moving to suburban Woodstock

Leonardo DiCaprio may be near, far and wherever you are, but there’s one place he isn’t—Woodstock.

Fantasy news site The McKenzie Post reported Tuesday that DiCaprio, who recently won the 2016 Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in “The Revenant,” was “tired of the Hollywood lifestyle” and was planning to move to the Chicago suburb.

The post cited an interview with People Magazine where DiCaprio allegedly said he wanted to “live in a place where people were people and whose sincerity you didn’t have to question.” It also quoted Martin Scorsese as saying “Leo immediately fell in love with the relaxed lifestyle and the small town feel of Woodstock.”

The post was quickly shared by many on social media Tuesday.

There’s just one problem: According to the publication’s website “all news articles on mckenziepost.com are satire or pure fantasy.”

The fake news site also fooled fans just days ago when it reported DiCaprio was moving to Baie-Saint-Paul, Canada. Previous stories also claimed Katy Perry was moving to Boerne, Texas and Wetumpka, Alabama.
