Man Questioned After Fatal Shooting Outside Nightclub

Two men died after being shot at about 1:30 a.m. outside the Victor Hotel nightclub, officials say

Chicago police said Sunday afternoon they're questioning a man in conneciton with a shooting hours earlier outside a west side nightclub that left two people dead.

The man hasn't yet been charged, but police said they found physical evidence that linked him to the crime, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Shots were fired at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday outside the Victor Hotel nightclub, at 311 N. Sangamon St., following an argument, said Chicago police spokesman John Mirabelli.

Two men who were shot in the chest were pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. They were identified as José Duckins, 30, of the 3600 block of West Franklin Boulevard, and Robert Warren, 34, of the 7300 block of North Damen Avenue.

A third man -- a 21-year-old -- was shot in the arm. He was treated at Rush University Medical Center and released, police said.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
