Renée Fleming to Headline Chicago's Tree Lighting Ceremony

The event will be held for the first time in Millennium Park on Nov. 24

American opera singer Renée Fleming will be the headliner at the 102nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in downtown Chicago.

The event will be held for the first time in Millennium Park on Nov. 24 and will also feature performances by Australian-American opera singer Danielle de Niese, cast members from Emerald City Theatre's "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and the Latin Music Project Ensemble.

The city announced last month that its official Christmas tree is moving to Millennium Park near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Washington Street after decades at Daley Plaza. Millennium Park will be home to other holiday events this season, including visits with Santa Claus, caroling and ice skating.

This year's Christmas tree is a 63-foot Colorado Blue Spruce donated by a Northlake family. It will be delivered Tuesday to Millennium Park.
