Rainfall Totals Across the Chicago Area

Storms dumped a couple of inches of rain on the Chicago area this Mother's Day weekend, with most counties across northern Illinois under a Flash Flood Watch Saturday evening. 

The National Weather Service had issued a Flash Flood Watch for large portions of Northern Illinois, including DeKalb, LaSalle, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, DuPage, Cook, and Will counties Saturday. 

By Sunday morning, some areas saw up to 3 inches of rain, according to the NWS.

Plainfield: 2.82

Oak Lawn 2SE: 1.99 inches

Oak Lawn: 1.88 inches

Worth: 1.83 inches

Lincolnwood: 1.58 inches

Elk Grove Village: 1.54 inches

Chicago Ridge: 1.44 inches

Park Ridge: 1.29 inches

O'Hare Airport: 1.27 inches

Willow Springs: 0.98 inches

Botanic Gardens: 0.95 inches

Oak Park: 0.9 inches

Midway Airport: 0.89 inches

Arlington Heights: 0.88 inches

Alsip: 0.85 inches

Wheeling: 0.84 inches

Park Forest: 0.63 inches

I drove past my favorite park in Hinsdale and it was flooded out. What was once a pond with a trail around it is a giant flood that even went into the streets. The man is fishing near the sign. He is in knee high water and enjoying himself!
