Protests Against Cop in Drunken Crash Continue

Friends of 2 men killed upset that detective was released on bond

Family and friends of two men killed in a crash involving a Chicago police officer took their protest to City Hall Wednesday.

Tests showed Detective Joe Frugoli had a blood alcohol level of about 3 times the legal limit when he smashed into a car stopped on the Dan Ryan, killing two men last week.

He's now free on bond.

Relatives of the dead men think he's getting special treatment.

"Two lives were taken and a killer gets to walk free with $50,000. That's ridiculous," one of the protesters said.

The group wants police officers who break the law to be treated the same way as anyone else.
