Mobile Home Park in Calumet City Without Water Since Saturday

No water and lots of questions for some residents in Calumet City who say those who live in the Park Harbor Mobile Home community have been without water since Saturday. NBC 5’s Regina Waldroup reports.

Some residents in Calumet City, who live in the Park Harbor Mobile Home Park community, say they have been living without water since Saturday.

An 83-year-old resident, Ruby Brown, said they did not have any water because the owner failed to pay the bill.

“Can’t take a bath, can't flush the toilet,” expressed Brown.

Without water, residents not only complained they could not go to the bathroom, they also said they were unable to do wash dishes or wash clothes.

Sheila Gorner, 81, who says she has lived in the community for 12 years, said she primarily needed fresh water to take her medicine.

The owner told NBC 5 there are a lot of leaks, which is what caused the water bill to rise. He also apologized to the residents who had to suffer and said he will work hard to make sure this does not happen again.

Water in that Calumet City area has been back on as of 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, residents said.
