Midday Stampede: Derrick Rose Makes the Cover of NBA 2K13

Rose is the second Chicago Bulls player since Michael Jordan to make the cover of the NBA 2K series

2K Sports has the most popular basketball sim on the market with their NBA 2K series. The game is the only of its kind on the market and is played by everyone who is into basketball video games.

In the last two years, former Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan has graced the cover of the game and this year, a current Bulls great will be on the cover.

Derrick Rose will be featured on the front cover of NBA 2K13 when the game is released this fall. Joining Rose will be Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant and Los Angeles Clippers stud Blake Griffin. It is the first time multiple athletes have been featured on the cover at once.

In 2010, Rose was the featured athlete on 2K's Draft Combine game, a download only title that integrated a custom player into the main title, NBA 2K10 and Derrick is said to be thrilled to be a part of NBA 2K13 according to 2KSports.

“It’s a dream come true to be one of the cover athletes for NBA 2K13,” commented Rose, the 2010-11 NBA Most Valuable Player, who led the Bulls to a league-best 50-16 record this season. “I’ve worked closely with 2K Sports since NBA 2K10, and I’m honored to follow in the footsteps of Michael Jordan as the latest Chicago Bull to be featured on the cover.”

NBA 2K13 is set to be released on October 2, 2012.
