New App Accompanies Re-Release of McRib

The iconic McRib sandwich, adored by McDonald’s fans the country over, is making its way back into restaurants, the company announced Thursday.

The sandwich, made of boneless pork and smothered in the restaurant’s signature McRib sauce, hasn’t been in restaurants since Dec. 2016, but the company announced that it’s back and even announced that there will be a new app to find out where the popular item is going next.

The “McRib Finder App,” which will be available on both iOS and Android devices, will tell customers where the sandwich is being sold, allow them to plan McRib “dates” with their friends, and to swap McRib-themed stickers with fellow fans.

“The McRib is truly an iconic sandwich and has been a fan favorite since its debut on the McDonald’s menu 35 years ago,” McDonald’s Chef Chad Schafer said in a statement. “Our customers are passionate, and it’s more than a sandwich. It’s a legend and has become an experience for so many to enjoy at McDonald’s.”
