McDonald's Testing New Breakfast Sandwich in Minnesota

The McGriddles French Toast is currently available at more than 200 locations across Minnesota

Move over Egg McMuffin, McDonald’s is testing a new breakfast sandwich in the Midwest.

The McGriddles French Toast is currently available at more than 200 locations across Minnesota.

The sandwich features a French toast bun with egg, cheese, sausage and Applewood smoked bacon—all brushed with syrup.

“It tastes like homemade French toast,” McDonald’s Chef Mike Lingo said in a statement. “It’s everything you love about breakfast in one sandwich.”

McGriddles were first introduced by the world’s largest hamburger chain in 2003. After that, came the Egg White Delight McMuffin in 2013. The latest sandwich aims to offer customers “a bigger and more filling breakfast option,” the company said.

“We’re excited for our Minnesota customers to test our new McGriddles French Toast sandwich and help evolve McDonald’s menu across the country,” Tom Butler, McDonald’s Minnesota Co-Op President and franchise owner said in a statement. “We look forward to hearing our customers response to this deliciously sweet and savory breakfast sandwich.”
