Chicago radio personalities Erich "Mancow" Muller and Pat Cassidy were shown the door Wednesday at WLS-AM, just 16 months after being paired for a morning show there.

Station General Manager Michael Damsky said the show wasn't "as issue-focused as we wanted the show to be," according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Mancow will continue to produce a syndicated radio show, though it isn't heard on any Chicago station.  Cassidy does not have a back-up gig.

Cisco Cotto, already with the station, will take over the 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. slot that had been filled by Muller and Cassidy beginning Thursday.

Mancow made headlines last year when he subjected himself to waterboarding during his show and later admitted he thought the procedure was torture.
