Loyola Gives Head Coach Porter Moser Contract Extension

After a magical run that culminated with the school’s first trip to the Final Four in over 50 years, there were questions about whether head coach Porter Moser would stay with the program.

Those questions have now been answered.

According to a press release, the Ramblers have agreed to a multi-year contract extension with Moser, who led the team to its first Final Four appearance since 1963.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times, but the deal will keep him in Chicago beyond the 2021-22 expiration date on his original contract. “We are excited to be able to announce a new contract for Porter that will keep him at Loyola a long time,” AD Steve Watson said.

Moser has an 89-50 record in the last four seasons with the Ramblers. He also became one of only two people to ever win the MVC Tournament as both a player and a coach after Loyola won the tournament on the way to their Final Four berth last season.
