Suburban Man Wins $1M with Lottery Scratch-Off

Stevenson said he had been playing the lottery for years but never had a win this big before

Try, try, try again – that’s the motto for a suburban Chicago man who just hit it big in the lottery.

Peter Stevenson of Yorkville scratched a $30 “Million $$ Match” ticket for $1 million – a prize he couldn’t believe he won, until a store clerk reassured him.

Stevenson said he had been playing the lottery for years but never had a win this big before.

The ticket was purchased at a Jewel-Osco, located at 1177 S. Main St., in Lombard. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The “Million $$ Match” is a $30 instant ticket that features three top prizes of $5 million, one of which has not yet been claimed, according to the Illinois Lottery.
