Yep. It looks like the 66-year-old pilot who landed his plane on a Lincolnshire golf course last year because his son was late for a tennis lesson, touched down in another unexpected spot on Thursday.
Robert Kadera, of Lake Villa, however, may find the courts to be a bit more understanding this time. It seems he had some mechanical problems with his small single-engine plane and was forced to make an emergency landing in a farmer's field near Antioch yesterday.
Antioch police dispatchers received a 911 call Thursday morning that a plane with mechanical difficulties was going down near North Avenue and North Hawthorne Lane.
The emergency landing in a field resulted in no injuries to the pilot or a young man who was riding with him.
Kadera pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and trespassing charges last month in the Lincolnshire incident and was sentenced to 18 months probation and 60 hours of community service.
His plane was grounded for a time because it was damaged and the Federal Aviation Administration was reviewing his license.
"He still has his pilot's certificate, but our review is ongoing. We are aware of today's incident," Elizabeth Isham Cory, a FAA spokeswoman, said Thursday.
