Power Outage Resolved In Lincoln Park

Outage began at about 6:30 p.m Wednesday

Commonwealth Edison crews have restored power in the Lincoln Park neighborhood early Thursday morning that affected about 3,000 customers.

The outage, bounded by West Belden to the north, West Armitage to the south, North Clark to the west and and North Lincoln Park West to the east, began at about 6:30 p.m Wednesday.

By 9:45, ComEd said the number of customers affected was reduced to about 1,800.

The utility blamed a fault with an underground cable. Generators were brought in until full service could be restored.

The outage has been resolved hours ahead of what is predicted to be the hottest day of the year so far.

Power in the area is currently running on a generator until the cable can be fixed Com Ed said.
