A suburban Chicago man is facing several misdemeanors after authorities say he took his tiger cub on a walk through downtown Lockport.
John Basile is facing charges for reckless conduct, disorderly conduct and possession of a dangerous animal after he was spotted with the Siberian tiger cub, named Kahn.
The 57-year-old runs Big Run Wolf Ranch, an educational facility that cares for wolves, a bear and other large animals. The Joliet Herald-News reports he has an animal exhibitor's license.
According to reports, he brought the animal to Uncle Richie's bar.
Lockport Police Chief Terry Lemming tells the newspaper that officers asked Basile to put the cub in a cage after the pair was spotted downtown earlier this month.
Lockport is about 30 miles southwest of Chicago.
