No injuries were reported in a Fourth of July fire on the first-floor restaurant of a Loop high-rise.

Firefighters were called to the State of Illinois building at 160 N. La Salle St. shortly about 7:45 p.m., the Chicago Fire Department said in a statement.

Fire and smoke was found on the first floor restaurant and was extinguished, the department said. Firefighters searched the building. No one was injured.

The blaze was caused by an appliance that caught fire in the restaurant, the department said.
