6 Families Displaced After Oak Park Residence Fire

It was a busy night for firefighters in suburban Oak Park as two fires broke out just blocks from one another. NBC 5’s Chris Hush has the story. 

A total of six families have been displaced after a fire broke out in a residence in suburban Oak Park on Saturday evening, according to the American Red Cross.

The fire occurred in the 500 block of South Scoville Avenue, and was first reported around 3:30 p.m., according to fire officials. Firefighters quickly attacked the blaze, but the fire remains active, authorities say.

No injuries have been reported in conjunction with the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
