City Unveils New Pothole Tracker App

The extreme weather has created a massive pothole problem in Chicago. Now, the city has a new app to help you track them down, and see where crews have been working. NBC’s Emily Florez puts the new app to the test.

Chicago officials have unveiled a new tool designed to help residents to track a week's worth of pothole repairs in the city.

The app, available on the city's web site, also allows you to report potholes in your area.

NBC 5 checked the app to track a potholes that were reportedly filled in Chicago Avenue, and indeed, the potholes had been repaired as advertised.

Already this year, the city has filled more than 50,000.

The extreme weather has caused the potholes to appear earlier than usual.
