Chicago’s City Council has agreed to drop the legal age to get a tattoo from 21 to 18 years old.
The city says there's no health reason not to drop the age of consent. There is, however, a cancer risk for younger people who use tanning salons.
To that end, the City Council has banned anyone under 18 from a tanning.
Also under the new ordinance, anyone under 18 must get a parent's permission before getting any piercings in the mouth.
