“I was planning on talking about what happened … and what the future holds”

Scott Lee Cohen was supposed to make a big announcement last night.

He didn't.

In fact, he didn't show.

Despite the rumors of his impending bid for Governor (hear that, Quinn?), the pawnbroker-turned-Lite Gov Nominee-turned-pawnbroker is keeping mum for now. He called to say he was sorry he didn't show, and said he'd been planning on talking about his future plans.

"I was planning on talking about what happened ... and what the future holds," Cohen said during a phone call.

Cohen didn't give a specific reason why he didn't show. But William Kelly, who is organizing the Reform Chicago Now movement, says The Erie Cafe, where Cohen was planning to speak, was concerned it would lose its liquor license.

We couldn't confirm that. But we can confirm that Cohen ... Cohen ... isn't gone.
