Chicago Area Could See Season's First Frost Friday

The average high for this time of year is around 64 degrees, with an average low near 44 degrees

Mostly sunny skies become partly cloudy; windy and mild Monday with highs in the low to mid 70s before gradually falling later this afternoon into the 60s. NBC 5’s Byron Miranda has the full forecast.

Temps may have soared near 80 degrees Sunday, but it doesn’t appear the summer-like warmth will last much longer.

In fact, the Chicago area could see this season's first frost by the end of the week.

While temperature highs look to stay in the mid-60s for much of the week, things are predicted to cool down significantly by Friday.

With highs expected to sit in the mid-50s and lows projected to dip into the 30s, there is potential for patchy frost during the early morning hours Friday.

The average high for this time of year is around 64 degrees, with an average low near 44 degrees.

The area looks to stay dry for the remainder of the week, with a few scattered light showers possible Thursday afternoon and evening.

The cooler temps are expected to stay in the area through the weekend.
