Roland Burris is keeping busy in the U.S. Senate despite the latest call for him to resign from Illinois' other senator.
On Wednesday, Burris gave a floor speech on supporting voting rights for the District of Columbia. Shortly afterward, he presided over the Senate as part of freshman orientation to parliamentary procedure.
His Illinois colleague, Sen. Richard Durbin, suggested Tuesday Burris should resign, but Burris told Durbin he has no such plans.
This is Burris' first week back at work in Washington since new revelations about the circumstances of his appointment to the Senate by disgraced former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
Burris has repeatedly changed his story about how he was appointed. But he insists he's done nothing wrong.
