Suspect Detained After 4 Shot, 3 Fatally, During Possible Home Invasion in Bolingbrook

Three people, including a juvenile, were shot and killed in a possible home invasion Sunday night, authorities said.

Four people were shot, three fatally, during a home invasion late Sunday night in suburban Bolingbrook, authorities said.

Bolingbrook police have detained a suspect in a shooting that killed three people and wounded a fourth person during a possible home invasion, authorities said late Sunday.

At around 8:15 p.m., officers with the Bolingbrook Police Department responded to the 100 block of Lee Lane for the report of a possible home invasion, police said in a news release. Officers arrived at the scene and found three adults and one juvenile had been shot.

An adult female, adult male and juvenile female were pronounced dead, authorities said. A second adult female was taken to an area hospital. Police initially said information about a suspect wasn't available, but in an update at 11:05 p.m. said a suspect had been detained.

In the update, Bolingbrook police added "our patrol officers and investigators are working diligently on all potential leads and evidence at this time."
