Anthony Weiner Allegedly Offered to Buy Chicago Condo for Sext Partner: Report

Former congressman and current New York City Mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner may have offered to purchase a South Loop condo for a social media sexting partner last year, a new report claims.

Weiner, who resigned from Congress in June 2011 after he mistakenly Tweeted a picture of his genitals intended for a phone sex partner, has been working to rehabilitate his image while running for New York City Mayor.

But on Tuesday, the gossip Web Site TheDirty.com published messages it clamis Weiner sent, sometimes under the user name Carlos Danger, to a 22-year-old woman who went by the name Dangr33 on the social media site Formspring.

Weiner admitted Tuesday that some of the conversations had taken place, and said only some of the new information is true. He also said some of it is not true, but did not dilineate which elements were true and which were not, nor did he confirm the timing of when these newly revealed conversations took place.

"I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have. As I have said in the past, these things that I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress,” Weiner said in the release.

“While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong. This behavior is behind me,” he said.

“I've apologized to Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness. I want to again say that I am very sorry to anyone who was on the receiving end of these messages and the disruption that this has caused. As my wife and I have said, we are focused on moving forward."

The Web Site TheDirty.com said these conversations, however, took place after Weiner had resigned from Congress. Weiner did not address the timing for these conversations.

According to the gossip site, Weiner and the woman apparently had plans that extended beyond online chats. The site claims that Weiner planned to purchase a Chicago condo -- located at 1235 S. Prairie Avenue -- so the two could meet and have sex.

NBCChicago has not independently verified this claim that Weiner promised a condo. Weiner did not clarify which elements of the new story line were true or untrue, including the condo claim.
