While members of the media may not have been singing the praises of Kyle Schwarber when the Chicago Cubs drafted him in 2014, they’ve certainly changed their tune now as the slugger has helped the team to their first NLCS appearance since 2003.

With Schwarber’s recent successes, it’s clear that he picked the right career field, but there may have been another path that he could have chosen:

An entertainer.

To bolster this point, Deadspin uncovered a video of Schwarber rocking out in a show choir competition when he was in high school:

With this type of performance, it isn’t so hard to see how Schwarber has become so adept at performing under pressure. The only thing we ask is that he provide a show-stopping number the next time he plants a home run atop the video board at Wrigley Field.
