70-Year-Old Man Shot to Death in Park Manor

Loved ones are looking for justice after a grandfather was killed while walking to the store. The shooting, which occurred near 71st and State, killed 69-year-old LeRoy Miller, and NBC 5’s Regina Waldroup spoke to his family.

Authorities have identified the 70-year-old man who was killed in a shooting Tuesday night in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

Leroy Moore was walking about 8:20 p.m. in the 7100 block of South State when he heard gunshots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Moore, who lived in the Jeffery Manor neighborhood on the Far South Side, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:53 p.m., authorities said.
