3 Men Shot in Waukegan Restaurant

The men were involved in an argument before they were shot, police said

Three men were shot early Saturday after being involved in an argument at a restaurant in north suburban Waukegan.

About 3 a.m., three men inside 24-hour restaurant Gojos Café, 2929 Belvidere Rd., were involved in an argument before they were shot, Waukegan police Sgt. Cory Kelly said.

It is unclear how the argument started or whether they were fighting with the shooter before they were hurt, Kelly said.

All three were taken to a local hospital for treatment. One man is in serious condition with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, Kelly said. Another man was shot in his leg, while the third man was shot in his leg and buttocks, Kelly said. Their conditions were not known Monday morning.

No one was in custody Monday morning as Waukegan police investigate.
