More About Marcel Hug: Hug is paralyzed from the waist down due to spina bifida, a condition that prevents an infant's spinal cord from properly developing. Hug's athletic success has hardly suffered, as he has earned victories in six major marathons in 2016 alone, including a gold medal from the Rio Olympics and first place at the last Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
