David Hernandez, the alleged Webio Ponzi-scheme mastermind, is the defendant of another case in federal court filed by a whistle-blowing suburban couple.
Last week, Fred and Linda Samp of Deer Parked filed a class-action lawsuit against Hernandez, his wife, Gina and all of the companies he owns, the Sun-Times reports. They also reportedly sued the convicted embezzler's business partner, Chicago sports talk personality Mike North, in an attempt to get their money back from any "ill-gotten gains" of the scheme. Hernandez is in jail on felony mail fraud charges that he bilked investors out of $12 million.
The federal government charges that Hernandez took investors money as star-up funds for the defunct Internet radio station, ChicagoSporsWebio.com.
