What You're Doing Today (and Tonight): March 28

Cook up Italian classics, celebrate Earth Hour and see Toronto's best band

JUST LIKE MAMA MAKES: Warm up today's chilly temps at South Loop Italian favorite Gioco, where executive chef Danny Sweis will be hosting an Italian Comfort Foods cooking class. You'll learn how to roast a chicken, whip up some gnocchi and prepare a hearty risotto. Plus, best part, you'll get to sample your work along with paired wines. 11:30AM, $30 (reservations required at 312-939-3870).

LIGHTS OUT: Celebrate Earth Hour tonight in grand style. The Trump International Hotel & Tower will extinguish all of the lights in the front drive, lobby and top tower of the property. Guests can enjoy a complimentary "Firefly" cocktail, made with Hendrick's gin, Moscato d'Asti, tonic and cherries soaked in kirsch, which emits a light glow when blended, in the hotel's elegant candlelit lobby. 8:30-9:30PM, free.

CANADIAN CLUB: See Toronto's Enter the Haggis, a band with influences as diverse as rock, folk, traditional Celtic music, bluegrass and even Latin accents, tonight at FitzGerald's in Berwyn. The band's brainy, high-energy shows are legendary. 9PM, $12-$15.
