NBC5 Responds Update: The Defect Dogging Drivers Nationwide

Hours after our report in November profiled a Chicago driver’s beloved car that sat dead in a dealer’s lot, in need of an expensive fix she could not afford, she got some good news. The next morning, Volkswagen corporate called Sue Winters to offer her a full repair, at no cost. But at the same moment Sue got good news, other NBC5 Responds viewers were reaching out to tell us they, too, were in need of the same fix. Lisa Parker updates our report, as VW says it will now look into the complaints of all the viewers who contacted NBC5 Responds.
