South Side Irish Parade Marchers Bring Awareness to Rare Disease
There was a very special tribute Sunday at the South Side Irish Parade. A show of support for Martin McGarry. The beloved boxing coach was supposed to be the honorary parade marshal this year- but passed away at the age of 66 from the blood disease amyloidosis. So instead, his friends and family marched along side a float to call attention to the disease and his courageous fight.
