Every Pet Is a Star

Treat your pet like a celebrity at Red Dog House's "Pet Portrait Day"

If your dog or cat just won't sit still to let you take their picture, bring them to a professional puparazzo (sorry, couldn't resist). Bucktown pet boutique Red Dog House will transform into "Doggywood" on Thursday, March 5 from 4-8PM for its seventh annual "Pet Portrait Day."

Renowned pet photographer Rhonda Holcomb will be on hand to make your pup or kitty feel like an A-lister. Holcomb's fun and candid shots make for memorable keepsakes, and pet owners can bring in any props they like to personalize their pet's portrait. Each pet's mini photo session will last about 25 minutes, and proud "parents" will receive two 5 x 7 prints and high-resolution jpeg files of the two shots for $85. Pet owners will also have the option of ordering additional poses and more photos in either color or black-and-white through Holcomb's Web site.

In keeping with its mission of pet philanthropy, Red Dog House will contribute a portion of the event's proceeds to the Lake Shore Animal Shelter. Because of the event's continued popularity, attendees must pre-register and pre-pay by calling 773-227-RDH1 (7341) or emailing steve@reddoghouse.com.
