Last year was pretty much a total disaster. You waited until Feb. 13 to make a dinner reservation for you and your Valentine, and you ended up trying to wax poetic over a dinner for two at Chipotle. Now, we don't want to knock the 'Potle (hello, delicious, ginormous burritos), but fast-food involving copious amounts of beans isn't exactly our idea of a romantic meal. Don't be that guy or girl this year – get on the horn now to make your reservations (who cares if you don't have a Valentine now – you never know what could happen in the next month!)
Better than getting on the phone, hop online and make your reservations through OpenTable.com. The site has put together a list of Valentine's deals and menus at some of their member restaurants. Examples include a 4-course dinner for $40/person at Atwood Café and a 4-course tasting menu that offers a choice for your main course ($55/person) at Perennial. So even if you forget to send roses, or the chocolates you bought somehow disappeared before you could deliver them (oops), at least you'll always have dinner.
