58 Crosses Placed on 58 Graves

Two North Carolina churches — one white, one black — share a sometimes unpleasant history, but joined together recently to face their troubled past and look toward a brighter future, while honoring the souls of 58 unnamed slaves buried long ago in their town’s cemetery.
