Emanuel's “Sporty” Day

Rahm Emanuel may be gearing up to take over as mayor of the city of Chicago, but on Friday it seems he was treated to events a little less political.

The mayor-elect was spotted earlier in the day at Wrigley Field, taking in the Cubs Home Opener.

Later in the evening, he attended the "Battle of the Badges," an annual competition between the Chicago Police Department and the Chicago Fire Department.

Now in its ninth year, the charity boxing match held at the De La Salle Institute on South Michigan Avenue benefits several Chicagoland charities.

The last eight year’s events rose over $320,000 for the various Police and Fire charities. More than 3,000 people attended each year, according to MMArecap.com.
