There's a lot to wrap your mind around with the approaching Chicago Ideas Week, the weeklong invasion of super-smart and super-influential folks taking place at venues all over town from Oct. 8 to 14.

We're helping with a series of speaker profiles designed to highlight the speakers who will benefit you, the Chicago entrepreneur. There are just over 100-plus speakers announced so far, and more to come.

In this profile: Toni Maraviglia.

Accolades: Toni’s the CEO and founder of MPrep, a “a Kenya-based educational platform that uses simple text messaging technology to allow students in poorest parts of Kenya access to prepare for national exams.” It currently has more than 4,000 students.

Why you should care: Because entrepreneurs can shoot high and shooting high can mean going across borders to get stuff done. And because you don’t have to wait to be a certain age or have certain things accomplished to try.
