Fare Increase Considered by CTA

Budget hole hounds transit officials

Lower tax revenues have dropped the CTA down another budget hole, which could prompt more fare increases and service cuts down the line.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday that CTA officials have warned of an $87 million funding shortfall for 2008 and $155 million for 2009.
