The British Consulate-General has moved to Michigan Avenue.

The United Kingdom on Tuesday opened the new Consulate-General office Tuesday in front of dozen of Chicago business leaders and media.

The consulate's prior offices were in the Wrigley Building, which was recently purchased by Groupon.

Her Majesty's Consul General Robert Chatterton Dickson will oversee the new office. The consulate will focus on business and trade with the state of Illinois.

The British government is a major trade partner of Illinois supporting more than 55,000 jobs.

Special guest Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Lord Stephen Green, cut the ribbon.
