Should Rahm Emmanuel Run for Mayor?

Mayor Rahm Emanuel.  Does it have a nice ring?  He thinks so.

The White House chief of staff admitted on Charlie Rose's TV show he would like to hold Chicago's top job one day. Emanuel, who was Mayor Daley's chief fundraiser for his first campaign in 1989, explained being mayor is something he's always wanted to do. He'll toss his hat into the ring if his ally doesn't, said the native Chicagoan.

What do you think?  Should Daley step aside leaving the door open for Emanuel to run?

"It's time for Mayor Daley to give up the mayor's office. He has made countless financial mistakes. Since he has taken over Chicago Public School system, it has been in disarray. The Olympic bid cost Chicagoans countless dollars. The sale if the city's parking meters; the appointment of Huberman as head of CPS after he mismanaged the CTA is proof positive of his ineffective leadership." - Cynthia

"I will vote for ANYONE except Daley. King Richard has to go!" - Anonymous

"Kinda seems to be a lose lose no matter what."  Benjamin

"Yes! I am from the suburbs and think he would be a very good Mayor and good for the whole Chicago area." - Mark

"I dont think so, we already have one shifty eyed guy running the city."  - Bob

"There should be term limits on mayors. Would I trust him, no, but it could be a start to change things." - Bryant
